Termite Skateboards

Termite Skateboards believes there is more to riding than balance and practice. Skateboarding teaches kids about determination and stick-to-itiveness. To help get this message out Termite Skateboards, hard core youth division of Dogtown Skateboards, turned to Steven Lippman and DDB's Creative Director Christianne Brooks for help. They put their heads together, and shined a new light on the positive emotional benefits of skateboarding. Seemingly simple, “Never Give Up” is both the message and the creative execution. The forty five second commercial and three minute lifestyle pieces feature the Termite team riders (ages five to fifteen years) shredding and not giving up. They fail and they get up and do it again. In that way skateboarding is just like life. Never Give Up was shot on location in one day in Southern California, check out the Behind the Scenes Section to see more on how it all came together.

"Working with the Termite riders was a blast. They were definitely taking it to the next level. It was really great to be chosen to conceptualize and direct this campaign. It really took me back to my pro skateboarding days as a young influential athlete. I remember spending countless days trying tricks and I would NEVER GIVE UP until I succeeded. I have two kids of my own and on a day to day basis I am constantly reminding them to keep their spirits high and pushing them not to be discouraged. Working with Alisha Brigado was such an honor. She had so much spirit and drive I can tell you right now she will definitely be a force to reckon with once she comes into her own. I hope you enjoy the spots."
